Monday’s SMART Website of the Week—Action For Happiness!

Happy SMART Day everyone!

A key part of SMART Living 365 is sharing—and because I find so much great information on the Internet, why not share some of the best resources I can find with all of you?  That’s why I plan to provide a link to other websites that are helping to increase the quality of my life, others lives, and make a difference on the planet.   In other words, I believe visiting these websites on a regular basis (just like this one!) can help you create a SMART Life 365.

Today’s SMART website recommendation is one that I check on a regular basis.  It is called “Action for Happiness”.  Not only does the website have some great information on it, their Facebook page regularly posts uplifting and interesting stories about happiness and how others are making a difference on planet Earth.

According to their website, Action for Happiness was created by a group of people in the United Kingdom that are committed to “building a happier society.”  So far they only list groups within the UK that are offering classes and other types of get-togethers in order to bring people together in support of their movement.  Plus, another big part of their mission is to get members to both take a pledge to help create happiness in the world and then take specific action steps.  Not sure what actions to take?  Action for Happiness lists a number of steps anyone can take on a daily basis.

One of the best things about websites like Action For Happiness is that they keep our minds focused on what we want instead of what we don’t want.  I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been sucked into negativity from just reading a line from a website, an email, or a post from a friend or social site that has caused me great concern.  While it is good to know about some of the events around the world, focusing on those events or ideas can lead to a negative spiral that goes down and down and down. Instead, like the Happiness for Action website says, “Optimism isn’t about being unrealistic; it’s about choosing to focus on the things which are good and on positive ways forward, rather than getting stuck in issues and negativity.”  Joining this website and focusing on things that uplift you help to make a SMART Life 365.  Check it out at: http://www.actionforhappiness.org/
