Are You Aware Of The Astonishing Light Of Your Being?

By Kathy Gottberg

Have you ever heard of the 14th-Century Persian poet named Hafiz?  He is another one of my favorite poets and manages to beautifully capture such profound ideas in short phrases.   The line in the photo comes from a short poem that says,

“One day the sun admitted
I am just a shadow.
I wish I could show you
The infinite incandescence
That has cast my brilliant image!
I wish I could show you,
When you are lonely or in darkness,
The Astonishing Light
Of your own Being!”

Thom and I will be traveling during the next few weeks.  But no worries!  I have a couple of awesome posts lined up from fellow guest bloggers, as well as a surprise or two.  So, no matter what you have planned for yourself, never, ever forget the astonishing light of your being!

A great quote, Kathy. The concept of light is beautiful on many levels. Profound ideas in few words. As you know, we are at a Celebration of Life this weekend. I now want to call it a “Celebration of Light.” Your posts resonate with me today and always. Safe travels:)

    Hi Kathy,
Love the quote…reminder to us all to value ourselves, think well of ourselves, and appreciate our talents, whatever they may be. We all shine in varied ways, and color and quality of the light makes a beautiful rainbow.
Shine on! (and I’ll look forward to the guest posts while you enjoy your well-deserved vaca!)

I love this quote! When people experience despair, it can be a challenge to imagine anything positive – about themselves or their lives. Wouldn’t we all love to be able to shine this light of hope and self love onto them.
