10 Things I Am Grateful For Including My New Book

While I believe Thanksgiving is one of the best holidays we have going in the United States, I also firmly believe in the statement, “Thanksgiving is good—but thanks “living” is even better.” So with gratitude on my mind, this week I’ve been dwelling on how very much I have to be grateful for—and it inspired me to take the time to write out my top ten.  Hopefully, by sharing my list you will be inspired to do the same.  Oh, and self-servingly, it is also a great opportunity for me to announce the publication of my latest book, You Get To Make It Up—a SMART Living 365 Guide to Creating a Happy & Meaningful Life.

Of course I also realize that some of my readers don’t live in the U.S.  so Thanksgiving isn’t on their calendar.  But from what I’ve read, a number of other countries celebrate something similar…. [Read more…]

After spending the last 29 days thinking, reading, talking and writing about gratitude, I’m pleased to say that I’ve accomplished a big part of my Gratitude Challenge.  I can now say that I’m definitely more grateful for every single thing—big and little—in my life.    Similar to when you decide you want to buy a new car and suddenly, everywhere you look that same car pops into your view, I now see gratitude in all sorts of places that I never imagined before.  It is my sincere hope and desire that each and every one of you reading this blog feels that your gratitude level has been heightened and improved as well.  But just in case you still need a little gratitude pinch, this post will include a final thought on taking your gratitude even deeper, AND my first ever Blog Hop. Three Simple Ways to Practice Thanksgiving 365

One of the shortest and sweetest paths to a happy and fulfilled life is the daily practice of giving thanks.  From one perspective, no other single spiritual practice is more universally accepted than the idea of being consistently grateful.  Not only is gratitude a fundamental element in most spiritual traditions, it is also an ongoing, reoccurring theme in most self-help, inspirational and motivationally focused books on the market.  Even science is jumping on the bandwagon and has begun to study the practice of gratitude as a way to increase the health and quality of a person’s life on many levels.  Simply put, being thankful 365 is the most important activity anyone can practice, at any stage of life, to create a happy, healthy and contented life.
